UNB's Heidi Lauwerijssen and STFX's Silas Fagnan named East Coast Lifestyle AUS Athletes of the Week
Lauwerijssen leads REDS to a first-round bye; Fagan breaks all-time conference record

Heidi Lauwerijssen from the UNB REDS women’s hockey team is the East Coast Lifestyle AUS Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 19, 2025.
A fifth-year midfielder from Irishtown, P.E.I., Lauwerijssen led the REDS to a 2-0 win over the Aigles Bleues Friday in Moncton, N.B., scoring both UNB goals.
The win helped the REDS secure a second-place finish and a bye through to the semi-final round of the upcoming Bell AUS Women’s Soccer Championship being held Oct. 23-26 at Cape Breton University.

Silas Fagnan of the STFX X-Men football team has been named the East Coast Lifestyle AUS Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 19, 2025.
A fifth-year quarterback from Bonnyville, Alta., Fagnan was named Player of the Game in the X-Men’s 45-3 win over Bishop’s on Saturday.
He went 22-for-30 through the air, throwing two touchdown passes for 231 total yards in the game, and rushed twice for 40 yards.
During the game, Fagnan broke the AUS career passing yards record, eclipsing the mark of 8,766 set by Acadia’s Larry Jusdanis 30 years ago. Fagnan currently has 8,879 career passing yards, with one regular-season game remaining.
Throughout the 2025-26 season, each East Coast Lifestyle AUS Athlete of the Week will receive a $50 ECL gift card and a signed certificate, courtesy of East Coast Lifestyle and Atlantic University Sport.
