Mackey’s pair of goals lead Sea-Hawks to 2-1 win over Aigles Bleus
(ST. JOHN'S, NFLD.) - The Sea-Hawks earned a 2-1 win over the visiting Aigles Bleus on Saturday in AUS men’s soccer action. Rookie forward Carter Mackey scored both goals for Memorial, including the game-winner in the 86th minute.

(ST. JOHN'S, NFLD.) - The Sea-Hawks earned a 2-1 win over the visiting Aigles Bleus on Saturday in AUS men's soccer action. Rookie forward Carter Mackey scored both goals for Memorial, including the game-winner in the 86th minute.
It was a scoreless first half despite six shots on goal from the Sea-Hawks and two from Moncton.
Mackey put Memorial on the board 52 minutes in with a strike that got past Moncton keeper Louis Bergeron. In the 72nd minute, second-year defencemen, Amadou Bamba Fall of Moncton evened up the score.
In what was looking like a tie game, it was Mackey who netted the game-changing goal for Memorial with only four minutes left in play.
Sea-Hawks keeper Andrew Anson had four saves in the win including a trio in the second half that thwarted the Aigles Bleus rally.
The win was Memorial's second of the season and the first on home turf following last weekends win against second ranked Acadia. Their record is now 2-3-1. Moncton fell to 1-4-1 with the loss.
The Subway AUS player of the game for the winner's was rookie forward Carter Mackey. Player of the game for Moncton was third year midfielder Ahmed Abdul-Rahman.
