Huskies drop 1-0 decision to visiting Axemen

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - In men's soccer action in Halifax, it was a tight defensive matchup throughout the first half between the Huskies and the visiting Axemen, as neither team was willing to take a chance for that crucial first goal.
Five minutes into the first half, the stalemate was broken by Axeman Cooper Coates after Acadia was able to gain a corner kick near the Huskie goal.
In the 68th minute the Huskies substituted Christopher Prodger into the game in an effort to find a desperately needed equalizer.
Shots in the 74th and 87th minute were directed on net but Axemen keeper Andrew Macrae stood tall to reserve the 1-0 win.
The Huskies will next host UPEI on Friday at Huskies Stadium at 7:15 p.m.
The Axemen will next play host to the StFX X-Men, also Oct. 3 at 7:15 p.m.
