Brown scores overtime winner as Panthers edge Huskies 2-1
(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The UPEI Panthers beat the Saint Mary’s Huskies by a score of 2-1 in overtime Saturday night at the Halifax Forum. The game was played before a crowd of 370.

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The UPEI Panthers beat the Saint Mary's Huskies by a score of 2-1 in overtime Saturday night at the Halifax Forum. The game was played before a crowd of 370.
Subway player of the game Tyler Brown (Detroit, MI) scored the overtime winner early in the extra period.
Christopher Desousa (Mississauga, Ont.) scored the other goal to provide the decisive offensive spark for the Panthers.
Mavric Parks (Eganville, Ont.) made 27 saves to spearhead the UPEI defence.
The Panthers outshot the Huskies 39-28. The two teams were in a firm defensive showdown during the first two periods, as both teams were tied 0-0 after 40 minutes of play.
The deadlock was finally broken late in the third with Desousa's goal. Another late goal by Saint Mary's Steven Trojanovic (Burlington, Ont.) tied the game at 1-1 and sent the teams into overtime.
Trojanovic's goal was the lone Huskies goal. Steven Beyers (Orangeville, Ont.) had the only assist on that goal.
Anthony Peters (Blyth, Ont.) stopped 37 shots between the pipes for Saint Mary's.
The Panthers' next game is on Oct. 22 against the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus at 7 p.m. in Moncton.
The Huskies play next also on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. against the Dalhousie Tigers at the Halifax Forum.
