The CAPERS earned 74 total points and five first-place votes in the annual AUS Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, narrowly edging out the UNB REDS (2024 AUS finalists), who finished second with 68 points and four first-place nods.
The Acadia Axewomen (60 points) claimed third, while the Memorial Sea-Hawks (55 points, one first-place vote) and Dalhousie Tigers (54 points) rounded out the top five.
STFX followed in sixth with 51 points, while the Saint Mary's Huskies and UPEI Panthers tied for seventh (29 points each). The Mount Allison Mounties (18) and Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (12) completed the preseason ranking.
All 10 teams will be in action tonight as the 2025 AUS women's soccer season officially gets underway, with opening kickoffs set for 5 p.m. AT across all five games.
The schedule features Memorial visiting Dalhousie, the defending champion CAPERS on the road against STFX, Acadia traveling to face UNB, Université de Moncton meeting UPEI in Charlottetown, and Mount Allison squaring off with Saint Mary's in Halifax.
