Capers rally to defeat V-Reds in overtime
(SYDNEY, N.S.) - A furious rally late in the game brought the Cape Breton Capers back from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit enroute to a 62-57 overtime victory over the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds in AUS women's basketball action in Sydney Friday.

With the win, worth four points in the standings, the Capers remain in second place with 24 points and extend their lead over StFX and Memorial in the race for a bye at the Subway AUS women's basketball championship being hosted by UPEI next month.
Alison Keough led the way for the Capers, scoring 20 points, including the first eight in overtime, and grabbing 13 rebounds as the home side improved to 8-8 on the season and snapped a four-game losing streak.
Tanira McClurkin with 14 points and Colleen Keane with 11 points and seven boards were other top players for the Capers.
Rachel Cleary had 12 points and nine rebounds to lead UNB. Grace Wade chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds in a losing cause. The Varsity Reds drop to 4-12 on the season.
UNB will head to Antigonish Saturday evening for a match-up with the StFX X-Women.
The Capers will be back at home Tuesday when they host the StFX X-Women in a 6 p.m. start at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.
