Axemen move into first place with 4-0 victory over No. 3-ranked Moncton
(WOLFVILLE, NS) - The CIS No. 6-ranked hockey Axemen handed the No. 3-ranked Moncton Aigles Bleus just their second loss of the season in a convincing 4-0 shutout win.

(WOLFVILLE, NS) - The CIS No. 6-ranked hockey Axemen handed the No. 3-ranked Moncton Aigles Bleus just their second loss of the season in a convincing 4-0 shutout win.
In two weekend games, the Axemen have outshot their opponents 92-39, picking up a pair of wins and moving into top position in the AUS men's hockey standings.
Second year goaltender Peter DiSalvo picked up the shutout Saturday evening, stopping 22 shots on goal, 12 of which came in the final period.
The Axemen went into the first intermission with a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Michael Ward at 6:28 and just over three minutes later, first-year forward Dylan Anderson found the back of the net.
Both goals were the second of the season for Ward and Anderson.
Second year forward Liam Heelis scored his first goal of the regular season at the seven minute mark of the third period and then added his second of the night at the 8:46 mark to give Acadia a 4-0 lead.
The Axemen improve to 3-2 at home and are currently a perfect 3-0 on the road.
Acadia heads to Saint Mary's this Friday and will travel to StFX on Saturday, while Moncton hosts the UPEI Panthers on Friday night and then head to Fredericton to visit the St. Thomas Tommies on Saturday.
