Theon
Reefer has taken the AUS by storm, averaging nearly 20 ppg. Reefer
is long, athletic, and can play above the rim. Senior Harry Ezenibe
is battling an elbow injury that could require surgery but has been
a steady presence with his usual assortment of inside/outside play,
rebounding and blocking shots. Swingman
Terrence Taylor is a
big physical defender who excels on the fast break and applying
pressure.

| Backcourt |
|
The
new combination of StFX transfer Marquis Clayton and CCAA transfer
Boyd Vassell have been stellar for the Huskies. Both are speedy and
can shoot it from beyond the arc, can create their own shot and get
easy baskets for teammates off penetration.
Clayton leads the AUS
with 41 assists while Vassell has hit some huge shots and is
usually the impetus behind a Huskies run.

| Defence |
|
Statistically, the
Huskies are middle of the pack in the AUS which means they’ve
slightly underachieved.
Athletically they can
match up with any team in the country on the defensive end although
their lack of size hurts them on the boards.
Coach
Taussig would probably like to see more steals, forced turnovers,
and blocked shots from his core of athletic troops who should be
excelling in transition defense. .

This
may be the deepest Huskies team in a long time. Seniors Riley
Halpin and Jeremy Mcavoy could start for a lot of teams in the
AUS.
Brian
Rouse has been in and out of the starting line-up but the former
AUS Rookie of the Year is averaging 10 ppg and is one of the best
finishers on the fast break in the conference.

Other Comments: In just his second season,
Jonah Taussig has compiled a roster that can compete with any team
in the country. Keeping everybody happy with playing time will be a
challenge and the Huskies need to improve their offensive sets in
time for the Subway AUS Championship when the games are determined
one possession at a time.
On paper, this is a Huskies team that has unlimited potential
and will be a lot of fun to watch. - Bill McLean, Inside the

Coaches Comments: Overall the team has played
well but in order for us to win in at the Metro Centre in March, I
think we need to improve in many areas, particularly the defensive
and of the floor and on the glass as well as getting good ball
movement on the offensive end.
We've had different people step up on the offensive end with
five guys averaging double figures, led by Theon Reefer who's
averaging 19.0. In the front court we'll need strong play from
Harry Ezenibe, Terrence Taylor and Riley Halpin. In the backcourt
we have lots of guys who can step up in any game to carry the
scoring.
I'm looking forward to the second half in the tough AUS
conference. - Jonah Taussig, Head Coach
