No. 3-ranked Capers defeat Huskies 85-80 to improve to 13-0
(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The CIS No. 3-ranked Cape Breton Capers remained undefeated by handing the Saint Mary's Huskies a 85-80 loss in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball action Friday night at the Homburg Centre in Halifax.
(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The CIS No. 3-ranked Cape Breton Capers remained undefeated by handing the Saint Mary's Huskies a 85-80 loss in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball action Friday night at the Homburg Centre in Halifax.
Atlantic conference scoring leader and reigning AUS player of the year Jimmy Dorsey had 33 points, nine assists and five steals to lead the Capers, now 13-0.
Cedric Kasongo and Arild Geugjes added 16 points each. Meshack Lufile had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Huskies led 17-16 after the opening quarter, with the score at half-time 36-34 in favour of Cape Breton.
Jordan Lee had 31 and Kevin Thomas 15 for Saint Mary's, 3-9. Thomas had 10 boards. Riley Halpen and Kadeem Thompson had 10 each.
The Capers will stay in Halifax and will visit Dalplex on Saturday night to play the Dalhousie Tigers. The game will be shown live via webcast: (http://live.streamit.ca/?player=48)
