2026 AUS football schedule released
The 2026 AUS football season opens Sept. 4–5, highlighted by a rematch of the 2025 conference final.
(HALIFAX, N.S.) Atlantic University Sport released the 2026 football schedule today.
Each of the conference's four teams will play eight regular season games, with a bye week scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend.
The regular season will kick off in September, with opening weekend set for Sept. 4-5.
The Mount Allison Mounties will host the Acadia Axemen for the AUS season opener on Friday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. AT in Sackville, N.B.
The STFX X-Men will host the defending champion Saint Mary's Huskies on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. in a rematch of the 2025 conference final.
The Huskies will host Mount Allison Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in their home opener.
The four Homecoming games are as follows:
- Mount Allison Mounties: Saturday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. versus STFX
- STFX X-Men: Saturday, Oct. 3 at 2 p.m. versus Mount Allison
- Saint Mary's Huskies: Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. versus Acadia
- Acadia Axemen: Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. versus Saint Mary's
Regular season play will wrap up Saturday, Oct. 31.
The AUS playoffs are set to begin the following weekend when the second-place team hosts the third-place team Saturday, Nov. 7 in the playoff semifinal.
The winner will advance to face the first-place team the following week in the 2026 Bell AUS Loney Bowl conference championship game set for Saturday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m.
The AUS champion will then move on to visit the OUA conference champion in the 2026 U SPORTS Mitchell Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 21.
The Mitchell Bowl and Uteck Bowl winners will advance to play each other in the 61st Vanier Cup on Saturday, Nov. 28. The 2026 national championship game will be hosted at TELUS-Université Laval Stadium in Quebec City, Que.
