OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Name: O’Shae Ho-Sang
University: Bishop’s University
Position: Running Back

Bishop’s Gaiters running back O’Shae Ho-Sang is the Atlantic University Sport Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 1, 2024.
Ho-Sang earns the nod for the second straight week after rushing for 124 yards on 18 carries and scoring a pair of touchdowns to help his Gaiters hand STFX their first AUS loss since 2019, beating the X-Men 37-27.
His first touchdown came in the second quarter, needing just one yard to cut the X-Men’s lead to 14-9. His second score came in the fourth quarter when he rushed 30 yards to the house to put Bishop’s up 37-27 with 6:35 left on the clock.
Bishop’s now enters their bye week at 2-0. Their next action will come on Saturday, Sept. 14 when they host the Acadia Axemen.

Position: Defensive Back

Year of eligibility: Fourth
Academic program: Hispanic Studies
Height and weight: 5’10, 170 lbs.
Bishop’s Gaiters defensive back is the Atlantic University Sport Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 1, 2024.
Aubert helped Bishop’s defensive charge, as they allowed STFX just 284 yards of offense in their 37-27 victory over the three-time defending champs, recording 5.5 tackles, including one for a loss as well as two pass breakups.
Bishop’s now enters their bye week at 2-0. Their next action will come on Saturday, Sept. 14 when they host the Acadia Axemen.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Name: Adam Johnston
University: Saint Mary’s University
Position: Kicker
Hometown: Rothesay, NB
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: Commerce
Height and weight: 5’10, 185 lbs
Saint Mary’s University kicker Adam Johnston is the Atlantic University Sport Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 1, 2024.
Johnston spent a lot of time on the field in SMU’s 41-33 overtime win over the Acadia Axemen this past weekend, making good on five of six field goals and adding two extra point conversions.
His 17-point game started early, kicking a 37-yard field goal less than five minutes into the game. He added another from 37 yards out to close out the first quarter to put his team up 13-0.
Johnston added three more field goals in the second half – including a 47-yard kick in overtime to help his Huskies move to 1-1 on the season.
SMU returns to action next weekend when they head to Mount Allison to take on the Mounties on Sept. 7 in a 2 p.m. kickoff.
