HALIFAX, N.S. (Feb. 2, 2024) – Atlantic University Sport (AUS) has announced that the 2024 winter playoffs and championships will be made available on AUStv with a paid subscription.
For more than a decade, AUS has delivered an online product that has allowed friends and family to cheer on the teams and student-athletes that make up our 11-member conference. However, the growing cost to produce high-quality webcasts has reached a point that user pay is the only viable option.
“We are very proud of the lengths we have taken to showcase our student-athletes and would stack AUS webcasts up with any other conference in the country,” said Phil Currie, AUS President and CEO. “We have seen our online audience grow considerably in the last five years and want to continue to provide an excellent product to those stakeholders. Our goal is to continue to deliver the best viewing experience possible, therefore we have provided packages that reduce the cost per game to those of conferences comparable with AUS. We would not want to take a step back in quality and that’s what we would have to do in order to continue webcasting at no cost.”
Fans will have the flexibility to choose which option works best for them, starting with a post-season single game pass (hockey, basketball, volleyball) for $7.99, a post-season single sport pass (men’s and women’s hockey, men’s and women’s basketball or women’s volleyball) for $29.99, or a post-season all-access pass (all men’s and women’s sports playoffs and championships) for $49.99.
A championship weekend pass for swimming and track & field will also be made available for $14.99 each.
