The AUS Defending Champion Cape Breton Capers kicked off the AUS women's soccer season with a pair of wins, along with the Memorial Sea-Hawks and StFX X-Women in the opening weekend.
The Capers kicked off the 2020 season with a 2-0 victory at home over the UNB Reds Friday night, followed by a 4-0 shutout win on Sunday afternoon over the UPEI Panthers.
The Sea-Hawks hosted the Saint Mary's Huskies in St. John's for back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday, which saw the Sea-Hawks walk away with a huge 6-0 shutout win Saturday, and a 5-1 victory Sunday afternoon.
The X-Women faced the UPEI Panthers in their home opener Friday night, earning a 2-0 victory. They then went on to top the UNB Reds 1-0 Sunday afternoon.
The Acadia Axewomen visited the Mount Allison Mounties on Friday, blanking them 4-0 on. The Axewomen were scheduled to meet the Dalhousie Tigers on Sunday, however the game was postponed due to the effects of Hurricane Dorian.
The Tigers opened their season on Friday however, playing to a 4-0 victory over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues.
The Aigles Bleues split their games opening weekend, as they finished off Sunday with a 2-0 road win over the Mounties.
