AUS Men's Soccer Weekly Round Up: Week 7

Friday, Oct. 27

Moncton 1 vs. Memorial 2 (Box Score)
(ST. JOHN'S, N.L.) The Memorial Sea-Hawks hosted the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus Friday night, and earned a 2-1 victory on home soil. Moncton's Saad Mohamed Mersadi opened the scoring at the 36 minute mark of the first half, to put the Aigles Bleus ahead by one. Memorial's Tyler Forsey tied things up at 1-1 at the 48 minute mark, with an assist from teammate Jordi Slaney. Forsey netted his second of the night late in the second half, to allow the Sea-Hawks to walk away with the win. 

StFX 2 vs. Acadia 1 (Box Score)
(WOLFVILLE, N.S.) The StFX X-Men improved to 9-1-2 on the season Friday night after a 2-1 win over the host Acadia Axemen. Read more: Recap

(SACKVILLE, N.S.) The UNB Varsity Reds blanked the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday to earn a 5-0 victory. Goals in the game came from UNB's Luis Garcia, Ben Gorringe, Robert Park, Marcus Lees, and Grant Takacs

Cape Breton 2 vs. Dalhousie 0 (Box Score)
(HALIFAX, N.S.) In AUS men's soccer action at Wickwire Field, the Cape Breton Capers defeated the Dalhousie Tigers 2-0 in a match with a quick pace, but few scoring chances. Read more: Recap

UPEI 1 vs. Dalhousie 0 (Box Score)
(HALIFAX, N.S.) In the final day of AUS regular season play, the Dalhousie Tigers played host to the UPEI Panthers on the Tigers senior day. The game was incredibly important for both of the teams that had identical records coming in. A win by either side would put them into the AUS playoffs. After giving up an early goal, the Tigers were relentless in their pursuit of the equalizer, especially in the second half, but the Panthers defense was able to keep them in it as UPEI came away with a 1-0 win. Read more: Recap
