The Saint Mary's Huskies remain undefeated on the AUS men's basketball season, as they earned four points Saturday evening with a 91-83 victory over the Cape Breton Capers. Kemar Alleyne led the way for the Huskies with 28 points, earning Subway Player of the Game honours.
The Dalhousie Tigers earned their third victory in a row on Saturday evening, playing to a 79-75 win in Halifax. Sascha Kappos finished with a clutch 15 points to lead the Tigers to earn the Subway Player of the Game title.
The UPEI Panthers hosted the UNB Reds on Saturday, which saw the Panthers take an early 22-14 lead in the first quarter. The Reds then locked down defensively and held the Panthers to just 43 points in the remaining three quarters en route to a 79-65 win. UNB's Tyrell Leotaud had a team-high 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the double-double. Subway Player of the Game, Ibrahima Doumbouya also contributed with 12 points and 19 rebounds (eight of which came off the offensive glass), while Chris Spurrell poured in 17 points.
The Memorial Sea-Hawks visited the StFX X-Men this weekend for back-to-back games, with a possible eight points on the line. The Sea-Hawks edged the X-Men on Saturday night with a close 82-79 win with Nathan Barker posting a game-high 31 points to be named the Subway Player of the Game. However, the StFX X-Men defeated the visiting Memorial Sea-Hawks 88-81 on Sunday afternoon to split the weekend series and earn a much needed four points in the standings.
