Sea-Hawks sweep weekend series with Panthers with 103-97 win

(ST. JOHN'S, N.L.) - The Memorial Sea-Hawks men's basketball team earned a weekend sweep over the UPEI Panthers with a 103-97 win in AUS men's basketball on Sunday.

Rookie guard Davion Parnsalu had a career-high 32 points and seven assists to lead Memorial.

Eighteen of Parnsalu's points came from the free throw line where he shot 18-21.

Forwards Vaslije Curcic and Caleb Gould each added 19 points in the win. Rookie Jacob Ranton had 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench for Memorial.

Deontay Smith led the Panthers with 19 points, six assists and six steals.

The Sea-Hawks improved their record to 4-14 with the pair of weekend wins. The Sea-Hawks are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs and will finish their season with a weekend series in Halifax against the Huskies (12-6).

The Panthers are now 9-10 on the season. The Panthers will finish their season against StFX on Friday night.
