Week 2 AUS Football Players of the Week: Aubry, Moussenguet and Hope honoured

(HALIFAX, N.S.) Quarterback Charles Aubry and linebacker Louve Moussenguet, both from the Bishop's Gaiters, along with Saint Mary's kicker Brian Hope, have been selected as the Week 2 AUS football players of the week for their respective performances this past weekend.

Name: Charles Aubry

Height and weight: 6'0", 165 lbs

Bishop's Gaiters quarterback Charles Aubry is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. 1, 2019.

A freshman from Laval, Que., Aubry threw 27 completions on 38 attempts for 264 yards and three touchdowns in Bishop's 32-19 victory over the U SPORTS no. 7-ranked StFX X-Men in their home opener Saturday.

He also amassed 61 rushing yards on six carries and a rushing touchdown in the win.

Aubry was named Subway Player of the Game for his efforts.

Defensive Player of the Week
Name: Louve Moussenguet
University: Bishop's University

Hometown: St-Jerome, Que.
Year of eligibility: Third
Height and weight: 5'11", 215 lbs 

Louve Moussenguet from the Bishop's Gaiters has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.

A third-year linebacker from St-Jerome, Que., Moussenguet had 2.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss of 23 total yards in Bishop's 32-19 victory over StFX Saturday.

He anchored the Gaiters defence with four solo tackles and four assisted tackles in the win.

Hometown: Port Coquitlam, B.C.
Year of eligibility: Fourth
Academic program: BA
Height and weight: 6'1", 200 lbs

Saint Mary's Huskies kicker Brian Hope is the AUS football special teams player of the week for the week ending Sept. 1, 2019.

A fourth-year arts student from Port Coquitlam, B.C., Hope made good on two of three field goal attempts and was successful on both point-after attempts, for nine total points in Saint Mary's 27-25 win over Mount Allison Saturday in Sackville, N.B.

He had 367 yards punting and 353 yards in kickoffs. He also chipped in with 24 yards rushing and a solo tackle.
