Week 11 AUS Football Players of the Week: Socholotiuk, Feltmate and Burnham honoured

(HALIFAX, N.S.) StFX running back Jordan Socholotiuk and kicker/punter Keiran Burnham, along with Acadia linebacker Bailey Feltmate, have been selected as the Week 11 AUS football players of the week for their respective performances this past weekend.

Offensive Player of the Week
Name: Jordan Socholotiuk
University: St. Francis Xavier University
Position: Running Back

Height and weight: 5'9", 196 lbs

StFX X-Men running back Jordan Socholotiuk is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Nov. 4, 2018.

An arts student in his fifth year of eligibility from Waterford, Ont., Socholotiuk scored two touchdowns and was named Subway Player of the Game in StFX's 33-10 win over Acadia in the AUS semifinal Saturday in Antigonish, N.S.

His 103-yard rushing downtown in the win was the second longest in AUS history. He also had a 52-yard rushing touchdown.

The leading rusher in the country this season, he finished with 242 total yards on 24 carries in the game.

Acadia Axemen linebacker Bailey Feltmate has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.

A third-year kinesiology student from Moncton, N.B., Feltmate had 13 solo tackles and two assisted tackles in the loss for Acadia Saturday in the AUS semifinal.

His 14.0 total tackles place him fourth in the AUS record book and set a new Acadia school record for tackles in a game.

St. Francis Xavier punter and kicker Keiran Burnham is the AUS football special teams player of the week for the week ending Oct. 21, 2018.

A third-year arts student from Cambridge, Ont., Burnham scored 13 of the X-Men's 33 points in their 33-10 victory over Acadia Saturday in the AUS semifinal playoff game.

He kicked a pair of point-after kicks and had field goals from 11, 21 and 53 yards out.

His 53-yard field goal was the second longest in AUS history and longest in StFX school history. Keiran also had eight punts in the game for 323 yards (avg 40.4) and four kick-offs for 232 yards (avg 58.0).
