(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Acadia Axewomen rugby player Tamara Dondi and StFX X-Men soccer player Dan Hayfield have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

A fifth-year science student from Caledon, Ont., Dondi scored two tries in the Subway AUS Women’s Rugby Semifinal Saturday versus the UPEI Panthers in Wolfville, N.S.
The Axewomen went on to win the playoff game 53-18 and advance to this weekend’s Subway AUS Women’s Rugby Championship final versus the StFX X-Women.
Dondi was named Subway Player of the Game for her efforts in the win.

Sport: Men’s Soccer
Hometown: Exeter, England
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: BA
Dan Hayfield of the StFX X-Men soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Oct. 22, 2017.
A third-year arts student from Exeter, England, Hayfield had four points in a pair of weekend wins at home which helped the X-Men clinch second place in the AUS standings and a bye through to the semi-final round of the playoffs.
He notched two goals, including the game winner, and added an assist in StFX’s 4-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday.
Sunday, he scored the lone goal in the X-Men’s 1-0 win over the Dalhousie Tigers.
With one week of regular season play remaining, Hayfield currently leads the AUS in goals with 12 on the season.
